James Madison Malone III, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2011 at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California with his close friends and family by his side. Born on October 6, 1951 in Ephrata Washington
He is survived by his wife Mary Malone of Kapolei Hawaii, his two daughters, Tyler and Blake Malone of San Luis Obispo, CA, and his stepson Brett Basarich of Hollister, CA. He is also survived by his sister Roxanne Easterwood (Chuck) of South Jordan, UT, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James M and Norma F Malone.
He will be remembered by his great love of the outdoors extending from fishing and scuba diving in Hawaii and Mexico to skiing and hunting in Utah and many other states. He loved to travel. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico was one of his favorite places to vacation with his family. He had a successful career in the heavy civil construction industry that spanned over 40 years. Mr. Malone was employed as Vice President of Estimating at Delta Construction Corp. in Kapolei, Hawaii.
He touched many people's lives and was highly respected by his peers and loved deeply by family and friends. His love of life, sense of humor and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Hawaii Yacht Club in Honolulu Hawaii, 1739-C Ala Moana Blvd.
Donations are preferred to a charity of choice. The Malone family stresses the importance of becoming an organ donor in remembrance of Jim Malone.
