Richard John "Ricky" Tavares Jr., 70, of Waimea, Hawaii, a Parker Ranch cowboy and former heavy-equipment operator, died in Waimea. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Jenny, sons Richard III and Daniel, daughters Lee and Leean, hanai son Steven Cruz, brother Moses, 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Private services.
