CAROLYN (BUNNY) McDOUGALL PETERS
CAROLYN "BUNNY" PUANANI (MCDOUGALL) PETERS (November 30, 1938 - January 10, 2012) Carolyn Peters, 73, of Waianae, Oahu, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2012 in Honolulu. She was born in Honolulu and was a retired Administrative Assistant in the Office of Council Services, City & County of Honolulu. After attending college at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, she was employed by the University's Adult Education and Extension Services Dean as the Supervisor of Education Week, an adult educational workshop that enabled adults to attend classes at the University. Two years after marrying her college-sweetheart, Henry Peters, she returned home to Hawaii and taught the 6th Grade at Maili Elementary. She left teaching and started her career with the City & County of Honolulu initially as a Senior Stenographer in the office of the Managing Director, eventually becoming an Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Office of Council Services. Co-workers, friends and family have always described Carolyn as a kind, caring and considerate person with a warm heart, she will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband, Henry H. Peters; daughter, Kimberleigh K. Peters Villasenor; grandson, Christopher H. Villasenor; siblings, Elnora "Mackie" Pratt, Myrna Mae "Tita" Dayondon, Michael McDougall, and Mary "Kim" McDougall. (Brother: William "Billy" McDougall, deceased). Life Celebration will be held at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel; Visitation 5:30 p.m.; Sunday (February 12); Funeral Service 7:00 p.m. Burial: 11:00 a.m. Monday (February 13) at Hawaiian Memorial Park. The family requests that, in lieu of monetary gifts, donations be made to "The Arthritis Foundation Hawaii Branch," 615 Piikoi St., Honolulu, HI 96814.
