Richard S.W. Gan, 86, of Hilo, a retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard sheet metal worker and an Army and Air Force veteran, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by stepson Stafford Santiago; stepdaughter Stephanie Lawrence; brothers George and Johnny K.; sisters Elsie Kam, Rose Lau, Lily Gan and Esther Ho; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion, care of Hawaii County Parks and Recreation. Graveside services at noon. Casual attire.
