80Laverne Amay, 70, of Hilo, a retired Hawaiian Telephone Co. installation coordinator, died at home. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by husband Julio "Jimmy"; sons Benjamin, James R. and Floyd; sister Sonia J. Madaloniz; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Wednesday at Dodo Mortuary. Services: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 8 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Casual attire.
