HARLEY LESLIE NEFFHARLEY LESLIE NEFF
87 of Kailua died on Feb. 2, 2012 of complications from pneumonia. Harley was born on Nov. 20, 1924 in McClusky North Dacota. He and his wife Edith arrived in Honolulu in 1956. Harley was hired by Dole Pineapple Co. where he worked for 32 years. He became the Director of Can Manufacturing for the Dole Co.
The Neffs settled in Kailua and became active in the community. Harley was an avid antique car enthusiast and was a long time member of The Antique Car Club of America, The Classis Car Club and the Rolls Royce Car Club. He was very interested in family history and loved to travel. He had an amazing memory for details and frequently shared many stories with family and friends. His greatest joy was his three granddaughters .
In addition to his many friends in Hawaii and elsewhere, he is survived by his wife, Edith M., daughter Leslie Galloway and sons Brian and Carl. Granddaughters Allison, Laura Miranda, and sisters Geraldine Boyle and Darlene Saunders.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations suggested to PBS Hawaii. He will be greatly missed.
