ALBERT DAI WOON SUR
92, of Honolulu, passed away on February 17, 2012. He was born in Kapehu, North Hilo, Hawai'i. He was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack on Dec. 7, 1941. He was assigned to Guadalcanal in Jan. of 1944 to guard Admiral Bull Halsey and was a member of the 298th Infantry Dog Company, He applied for officers training and was accepted in Nov. 1944. He retired from the United States Army as a Major. He worked and retired, at age 91, as a property manager for Professional Island Management, Ltd.
He is survived by his son, Michael, daughters, Laurie Ann (Vance) Fung and Evette (Michael) Pickett, grand-children, Jenna Pickett and Leilah Fung, companion and best friend, Blackie. Private services.
