DIETRICH OLAF RAUSCHER Feb. 23, 2012 Honolulu--Dietrich (Dieter) Olaf Rauscher, 60, of Honolulu, a retired IBM IT Specialist working in Software Support Services, passed away at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu after a long battle with cancer. "Dee" was born on May 21, 1951 in Laxa, Sweden and immigrated to Kingston, NY as a young child. He is survived by his wife Ladda and stepsister, Sharon Murphy, brother-in-law Frank Murphy and 3 nephews from Concord, New Hampshire. Dee is pre-deceased by his mother, Martina and stepfather Alfred J. Brocco from Kingston, NY; Brother Mario Brocco, his stepbrother; and niece, Erin Murphy. Dee attended school in Kingston, NY and graduated from Kingston High School, Class of 1969 where he was a member of the school's inaugural soccer team. Dee attended Ohio University where he played varsity soccer and began employment with IBM Poughkeepsie in 1977. He transferred to IBM Honolulu in 1986 where he remained until retirement. He enjoyed traveling and many outdoor sports including kayaking and paddling. He was an enduring example of how to live life to the fullest.
