Edmund "Buddy" Enos, age 79, of Gardena, CA, passed peacefully at Silverado Senior Living in Redondo Beach, CA, on February 21, 2012. Buddy was born on August 24, 1932 in Waikapu on Maui.
Buddy went to Kamehameha, and then graduated from Baldwin High School, after which he decided to enlist. Upon his return from serving his country in Korea, Buddy moved to Los Angeles, CA, to attend college. Buddy later settled on a career in truck driving, retiring from H. Kramer & Co. After retirement, Buddy ran for mayor of his adopted hometown of Gardena.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, Buddy is survived by sons Dane (Kona), Dygre (Honolulu), and Keakini (Renton); daughters Puamanu (Kona), Daphne (Las Vegas), Desiree (Waiehu), Leahi (Burlingame), Pualani (Pukalani) and Ka`iulani (Wailuku); stepdaughters Brenda (Las Vegas) and Becky (Desert Hot Springs); Sisters Ku'ulei Nobriga (Kalihi) and Maile Ann Artis (Laie); 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Buddy was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Lee (Kona) and sister, Viola Mae Studebaker (Honolulu).
Memorial services will be held at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, Kalihi Ward, at 1723 Beckley Street, Honolulu, HI. Visitation will begin at 9:30am on March 23, 2012, with services at 10:30am. Internment will follow at 1:00pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, HI. Services were also held earlier this month in Gardena, CA.
