DAVID S. SHIMOMURAIn Loving Memory of
DAVID S. SHIMOMURA
1925-2012
Of Kailua-Kona, HI died on March 3rd, 2012 of natural causes. He was born in Puunene, Maui on April 7th, 1925. He lived a happy, long and blessed life. The best thing in his life was his 63 years of marriage to Yaeko. They were proud parents of their two children, Peter and Joyce. He has lived a full life with no regrets.
He served his country as a soldier in World War II. He used the GI Bill of Rights to earn a Master's degree in social work. This led him to a long career in state government in positions that were very challenging satisfying, and rewarding.
His life was filled with many good things that occurred; very helpful associations with people who affected his life; close friends who were very kind and helpful and enjoyed mutually beneficial close relationships.
He was able to experience and enjoy many educational, artistic and other hobbies to make him a well-rounded fellow.
David did not want a funeral for any mourning of his death. He instead wanted to let all his relatives and friends to just know that he died a happy man wishing everyone a fond farewell with his thanks for the great help and good times that he and his family enjoyed. He wanted to announce his death with his last goodbye with his deep feeling of appreciation for all the kind and wonderful friendships he received that helped him and his family have a more enjoyable life. He wanted to have those he left to be happy for David's time on earth instead of being sad of his death.
He is survived by loving wife Yaeko and two children, Peter and Joyce.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club clubhouse at Honokohau Harbor in Kailua Kona on March 31st from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Please, no flowers or donations to charity.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
