73James Sunao Otani, 66, of Hilo, a retired Hawaii Electric Light Co. engineering planner, an Army Reserve member and Air National Guard retiree, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife JoAnne S., son Alden, daughter Kristi Bisel, brothers Mel and Peter, sister Peggy Ota and five grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Friday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 10 a.m. Casual attire.
