LEONG WAH CHUNLEONG WAH CHUN
96, was born on January 26, 1916, in Honolulu. He passed away on February 11, 2012. He was predeceased by wife Helen Kam Yuk Chun. He is survived by sons, Edgar C.Y. Chun (Kathy) Los Angeles CA., Eric C.Y. Chun (Pat), Everett C.S. Chun (Barbara) Gig Harbor WA, and daughter Edwina K.S. Lau (Ernest). Grand Children: Ryan Chun, Marlene Hainer, Jaden Chun, Jadelyn Chun, Chad Lau, and Matthew Chun. Great grand children: Marshall Hainer, Xavier Chun and Matthew Chun. Surviving sisters and brothers are, Helen S.S Kau, Henry L.Y. Chun, Edmund L.F. Chun, and Betty S.H. Chee.
Leong Wah Chun, is a graduate of McKinley High School and Mun Lun Chinese School. He retired as a Honolulu City & County Assistant Fire Chief, was stationed at many Oahu fire stations. He was very proud of being a fireman and to have been on duty, as a Hoseman, on Dec. 7th, 1941, continuously fighting fires for 7 days, not going home during those days. He was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking for the fireman on duty at the fire stations, and for his family and friends. After retirement, he enjoyed his world-wide travels with wife Helen, and especially his many trips to China, where he supported the Yao Tiao Village School. He was an avid golfer, who played golf frequently with his many friends at Ala Wai Golf Course. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, always there to help and support his family.
