79Baden Powell Pere, 78, of Laie, a Brigham Young University-Hawaii educator, died in Kahuku. He was born in New Zealand. He is survived by sons Jared, Dana and Guy; daughters Teryl Soren, Rani Kaanaana and Kim Paalua; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. April 7 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Laie Stake Center. Scattering of ashes to follow at Clissold Beach, Laie.
