76Ernest Michael “Mike” Schmidt, 73, of Hilo, an auctioneer and former owner of Paradise Auctions, died at home. He was born in Peoria, Ill. He is survived by wife Gloria, son Steven, daughters Colleen Pabre and Brenda Spurlock, sister Susan Tchudi, hanai brother Brent Mournahan, hanai sister Sonia Glenn and 11 grandchildren. Visitation at noon Monday at Dodo Mortuary. Services: 2 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
