WILMA ANN TICE
Wilma Ann Tice passed away peacefully on March 27, 2012 at Pohai Nani Retirement Community in Kaneohe, Hawaii at the age of 102. She was born in Seattle, Washington on June 11, 1909 to parents Matis and Anna, Latvian immigrants. Wilma moved to Hawaii with her young son in 1946 and began a career with the National Labor Relations Board, retiring in 1972. Those who had the opportunity to know Wilma were awed and inspired by her kindness, optimism, and engagement with life. She is survived by her son, Michael (Joanne); two grandchildren, Marc (Amanda) and Kimberly; and one great-grandson, Justin. In her final act of generosity, Wilma willed her body to the John A. Burns School of Medicine. She requested no services be held, though her ashes will later be scattered over the Koolau Mountains, where she will join her sister Alice. She will be missed, never forgotten and always loved. Everyone who knew Wilma will remember her as a good friend.
