Gilbert Joseph Souza, 68, of Haiku, Maui, a heavy-equipment operator and an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War and received a Bronze Star for valor, died at home. He was born in Puunene, Maui. He is survived by wife Cynthia C., son Henry J., brothers Wilfred and Stanley, sister Rose Martin, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
