Charles Shigeteru Kato, 84, of Kailua, a retired freight forwarding manager at a shipping company and an Army veteran, died in Kailua. He was born in Puunene, Maui. He is survived by wife Melvia T., daughter Faye Irvine, brother Naoso "Asho," sister Maude Kon and three grandchildren. Visitation: 3 p.m. Sunday at Honolulu First Church of the Nazarene.
