Earl L Hollingsworth beloved father, G-Pa & Great G-Pa past away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep at home on April 14, 2012. Born in Atlanta Kansas Nov 19th, 1929 the oldest of 3 Children to Clifford and Edna Hollingsworth.
Earl met his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty Tanga in Tokyo Japan where both US Citizens were working and married. They returned to "States" where they raised their 3 children.
Earl obtain the rank of CMSGT during his distinguished 26 year career in the US Air Force from 1948 - 1973. While serving as a Foreign Military Training Administrator he had the pleasure to serve in numerous countries such as: Japan, Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Republic of China, Philippines, Indonesia and other countries from 1950 - 1973. After retiring from the Air Force he accepted various Management positions during his 10 year career with Volkswagon of America in Hawaii, including Import Operations & Service Manager.
As the family Patriarch Earl made it a point to stay in touch and reach out a hand to family and friends alike. Dad/Earl/Uncle Earl was instrumental in helping many family members and friends when they were in need. Both Betty and Earl were very giving to charities as well. Earl made many friends world wide during his life and made it a point to remain in touch with them often reaching out by phone on a whim to call someone he had not spoken to in years. During his more spry years he was an avid scuba diver (with daughter Karen), golfer and traveler with wife Betty.
Earl was survived by his wife Betty formerly of Lahaina, Maui, Son Clinton Earl; G-son Brad, wife Marybeth & "Great" G-son Payton; G-daughter Jamie Lynn of Folsom, Ca. Son Dean Curtis, wife Felice & G-son Mitchell Chase ("Chief") of San Jose, Ca and Daughter Karen Napua Lockhart, husband Wayne & G-sons Wayne K.E., wife Tracy and Zachary Blue of Mililani, Hi. Also survived by Sister Betty Jo and husband Rev. Larry Ankrom Atlanta, Ks & families of Bret & Bart Ankrom and Kevin Hollingsworth and Angela and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in Death by Father Clifford Earl; mother Edna Fay brother Clifford Dale and G-daughter Madison Noelani. Earl will be interned in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) Honolulu, Hi with full Military Honors. Rest in Peace - Dad
