Placido Dias Valenciano, 95, of Hanapepe, Kauai, an Army welding instructor and veteran, a former civil service commissioner and Kauai County Salary Advisory Committee employee, died in Kauai Care Center. He was born in Dingras, Philippines. He is survived by wife Maria B.; sons Placido and Randal; daughters Patricia Pablo, Glenda Miyazaki, Marilyn Billingsley and Crystal Rowe; brother Juan; sister Virginia Ballesteros; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Saturday at Garden Island Mortuary. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire.
