George B. Fernandes, 93, of Wailua Houselots, Kauai, a retired state Department of Health microbiologist, a rancher and farmer, and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died. He was born in Kapaia, Kauai. He is survived by sons George L., Michael and David; daughter JoAnn Yamaguchi; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8:30 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine Church, Kapaa, Kauai. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
