ELEANOR MURAKI KAMELEANOR MURAKI KAM
78, died May 29, 2012 at Castle Hospital. She was the youngest of 4 daughters born to Richard S Muraki and Dora Chung Muraki of Hilo, Hawaii. Eleanor attended Michigan State University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Education. Eleanor worked for the Department of Education as a teacher for over 20 years. She married Benjamin D.L. Kam in December, 1957.
Eleanor is survived by son Wayland (Lynn) Kam of Maui, daughter Tedi (Dan) Kam-Yahata of Honolulu, and 3 grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters Doris (Ben) Guerrero of Hilo, Lei (George) Chun, and Lily (Kenneth) Ho, nieces, nephews and other friends.
Funeral services will be held at Borthwick Mortuary, Friday, June 15th. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Services will begin at 10:30 am. Aloha attire, no flowers. Private burial at a later date.
