James Hiroshi Matsunaga, 88, of Honolulu, a retired recreational director for the U.S. Pacific Fleet submarine force special services and the city Department of Parks and Recreation, and an Army veteran, died. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Alice N., son Douglas H., daughters Adele N. Kim and Susan L. Matsunaga, and sisters Mary Kishimoto and Alice Toyama. Private services.
