Gilbert Makua, 80, of Waimanalo, a Navy crane operator and an Army veteran, died in Waimanalo. He was born in South Kona, Hawaii. He is survived by sons Kaipo Makua and Michael Naihe; daughters Manulani and Mahealani Makua, Napua Kepa and Puanani Torres; sisters Chrisanta Largo and Felicia Martinez; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
