83Philip Warren Berthel, 87, of Kurtistown, Hawaii, a retired Boeing Co. missile engineer, died at home. He was born in Malden, Mass. He is survived by wife Shirley, daughters Lee Berthel and Jan Shirchild, brother Norman, sister Eleanor Harris, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private services.
