Leopoldo Garcia "Poldo" Palacay, 89, of Pearl City, an Army veteran who served in World War II and a retired environmental specialist for the Philippine government, died in Honolulu. He was born in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He is survived by wife Emelita D.; son Raymund E.; daughters Erlinda E. and Fe E. Palacay, Marietta P. Radona and Imelda P. Cosalan; brothers Artemio, Federico, Antonio and Pedro; sisters Trinidad P. Librado, Anita P. Burdeos, Bernarda P. Villadolid, Jesusa Prado and Severina Palacay; and four grandchildren. Visitation: 6 p.m. Sunday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, makai chapel. Services: 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 95-675 Farrington Highway, Waipahu. Mass: 11 a.m. Committal services: 2 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
