Hilbert Eugene "Hib" Bender, 80, of Kailua, a retired Liberty House director of presentation and a Navy veteran, died in Kailua. He was born in RapidCity, N.D. He is survived by wife Leona; sons Brent, Barclay and Reed; and three grandchildren. Celebration of life:10 a.m. July 21 at Kailua Beach Park Canoe Club. Scattering of ashes to follow.
