71, of Pearl City, passed away at Pali Momi Medical Center on June 22, 2012. Mr. Amano was born on November 19, 1940, at Puukolii, Maui, and graduated from Lahainaluna School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army, worked for Mid-Pac Lumber, and retired as a leadman for D.F. Builders Engineering Contractors. He was a loving husband, father, proud grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an avid diver and fisherman, and a frequent Las Vegas visitor.
He is survived by his wife Esther, children Yvette (Scott) Kimura of Pearl City, Jonathan (Rocky) Amano of Kapolei, Teddy (Natasha) Amano of Waimanalo, and Tery-J Amano Acs of Pearl City; grand-children Jessica, Jonathan (Kanoe), Jacob (Jocelyn) Amano, Sy William (Kawehi) Kimura, Kasey and Conner Amano-Lee; great-grand-children Jayden, Chasyn, Jordan, Azlyn and Tristyn Amano; his brothers Domingo and Sonny (Nancy) Amano of Maui, sisters Maggie (Hannibal Sr.) Williams, and Fely Lia of Honolulu, Dolores Agcolicol of Arizona, sisters-in- law Linda Amano of Maui, Greta Amano of Las Vegas, Marie(Charles Sr.) Mattson of Waimanalo, Nalani (Scott) Park of Oregon, brothers-in-law Kenneth (Annette) McCandless of Kapolei, Gordon Wegesend of Wahiawa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.
