Melanie Nohealani Kailiwai, 38, of Kailua-Kona, a Hawaiian language immersion educator and Na Lei O Kaholoku hula dancer, died. She was born in Hawaii. She is survived by husband Daniel K. "Bulla" III; son Ulukoanui K.M.; stepdaughter Teja K.; father Henry Amaral Jr.; mother Ashlyn P. Kini; stepmother Beverly Amaral; brothers Gem and Thomas Nishimura, and Henry III, Jason and David Amaral; and sisters Zelda Alimoot, Meagan Kini, Christina-Marie Rawlins and Malia Amaral. Celebration of life: 5 p.m. Wednesday at Pauoa House, 2141 Pauoa Road, Honolulu. Additional services: 10 a.m. Aug. 4 at Puunahulu Community Center, Kona. Casual attire.
