James Toshiichi Karimoto, 77, of Hilo, formerly of Kauai, a retired security guard, Roberts Hawaii driver and an Army veteran, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Lihue. He is survived by son Kevin Saflor, daughter Lorene Texeira, brother Herbert, sisters Elsie Kawakami and Shirley Willis, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 11 a.m. Friday at Lihue Hongwanji Mission, Lihue. Services at noon. Casual attire. No flowers.
