FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

John Kapualani Koko
JOHN KAPUALANI KOKO On June 25, 2012 John Kapualani Koko at the age of 51 waited patiently for the angels to come and escort him to heaven and graciously received his golden heart from our Lord and Savior. Having heart problems since a young boy, John never let his health challenges stand in his way of achieving great things in his life. For over 30 years John was the bass player for the Na Hoku Hanohano award winning group Makaha Sons of Niihau and Makaha Sons. While sharing their Hawaiian music, dance, language and culture, John had the opportunity to travel all over the world and meet so many wonderful people. He truly loved to entertain his fans. He was an accomplished artist. He worked with a few mediums; including oils, acrylics, water and charcoal. John created such spectacular oil paintings of scenic landscapes. He was an avid and exceptional chess player. He love competition in any game and in life. John even tried a little bit of modeling on the side. He shared some of his photos on his FB page. He was most proud of his "Calendar" with no pose to risque. John loved God. Everything he did was put in prayer and he trusted that the Lord would guide him in the right direction. John never forgot to say thank you Jesus for everything he had. He always passed on his blessings to others. That's what our mom taught us. He was devoted to his family first and foremost. Spending time with family was what he loved to do, whether it was going out at a restaurants to have lunch, going to school functions, or even just riding in the car around the island looking for that perfect sunset. Our Brother John will truly be missed by many who knew him. John, until we meet again.
