William R. Grubbs, 85, of Wailuku, formerly of Huntington Beach, Calif., a Navy veteran who served in World War II and owned and operated an insurance agency in Downey, Calif., died in Hale Makua, Kahului. He was born in Los Angeles. He is survived by wife Susan, daughter Laura Montierth and two grandchildren. Private services.In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Kihei Canoe Club, P.O.
