Albert James "Poncho" Avilla Jr., 65, of Waipahu, a retired state animal handler and an Army veteran, died in Aiea. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Donnie L.; sons Trinity, Terrance and Nelson; daughter Danielle; mother Rosemarie Haworth; brother Mike Haworth; sisters Laverne Histo, Victoria Roehrman, Yvonne Barrientos and Paulette Washington; and three grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Casual attire.
