FRANCES NOBUKO SHINTANI
Frances Nobuko Shintani, born February 19, 1925 in Honolulu, passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospice in Nuuanu on November 20, 2012 at the age of 87. She was married to Robert Shinichi Shintani for 62 years and lived her life to the fullest. Retired from Ala Moana Gift Lode as a sales associate, she enjoyed providing the best possible home for her children and grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth (Sumiko) Ishii, Harry (Judy) Kido, Larry (Joyce) Kido; sisters Faith (Tokio) Fukumoto and Marie (Dale) Trenhaile. Frances is survived by her husband Robert Shintani, sons, Alan (Jennifer) Shintani, Stephen (Andrea) Shintani; daughters Celia Burke, Roberta Shintani and Karen (Edlin) Kam; sisters Sally Ueno and Ruth (Kenneth) Kasenberg; and blessed with 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. We loved her immensely and will miss her loving and feisty spirit. Visitation 3:00 PM and Celebration of Life service 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 16, 2012 Hosoi Mortuary. Casual Attire. No Flowers.
