Jopelo Theophilo Ermitano, 91, of Hilo, a retired heavy-equipment operator, former maintenance worker at the former Hilo Medical Group and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died at home. He was born in Naalehu, Hawaii. He is survived by sons Keith and Glennon; daughters Claudia Pine, Jo-Nell "Gigi" Palacio, Gaile Prugh, Pam Kahakua and Sharon Fontes; hanai daughter Alicia Rodriguez; 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Private services.
