MITSURU DICK YODA
MITSURU DICK YODA Mitsuru Dick Yoda was born on October 4, 1926 in Wailuku, Maui. He is survived by his wife Peggy (Eguchi), daughters Colette Garibaldi (John) and Colleen Liu (Garrett), son, Stephen Mitsuru (Mako) and grandchildren John Robert and Kristen Garibaldi and Ryan and Travis Liu. He is also survived by his siblings Kiyoshi Yoda, Annette Yoda, Mildred Ariyoshi, Frances Yoda and Ruth Nagaoka He was a St. Anthony's High School (Wailuku) graduate who served in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and graduated from Long Island University (Brooklyn, NY). He was a partner with Coopers & Lybrand, retired in 1979 as partner in charge of the (Honolulu) Tax Department before joining Hawaiian Host and eventually becoming President and CEO. Dick retired from Hawaiian Host in 1998. "Uncle Mits" was constantly surrounded by his family during his brief illness and was at home with his wife at his side when he passed away on December 3, 2012. Visitation, Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m., Eulogy, 12:15 p.m., Requiem Mass at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Hearts Church, 1701 Wilder Avenue; 2 p.m., Inurnment at the National Cemetery of the Pacific. Aloha attire suggested.
