Edwin Akio Hoshida, 79, of Hawi, Hawaii, a retired auto mechanic, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a former Hawaii Army National Guard member, died in Kohala Hospital. He was born in Kohala. He is survived by wife Margaret, sons Earl and Aric, daughter Naomi, brother Stanley, and two grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Gospel of Salvation Church, Kokoike, Kohala. Services: 10:30 a.m. Graveside urn committal services at noon Jan. 7 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire. No flowers.
