John Wise "Johnny Boy" Kamoku Sr., 72, of Hilo, a retired heavy equipment operator and a Navy veteran, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Mary Jane; son John Jr.; daughters Piilani Kaawaloa, Jessanne Paresa, Christine Edmiston and Toni Marie Batalon Kaui; brother Jimmy Wise; sister Elsie Kihano; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Kamauloa o ka Malamalama Church, 17-604 Volcano Road, Kurtistown. Services: 11 a.m. Aloha attire.
