Remembering ALBERT WILLIAM EVENSEN August 13, 1925 - December 24, 2012 Albert filled his 87 years with dignity, love of family and service to the community. He was born in Honolulu, attended Roosevelt High School, University of Hawaii at Manoa, served in the US Army from 1945 - 46, and earned a law degree from the University of Virginia. Al served in the Hawaii Territorial Legislature and was elected to the 1st Hawaii State Legislature, serving as a Representative for Kaneohe from 1959 - 62. He was a successful attorney in Honolulu, practicing family law. Al was active in the Jaycees, Lions Club, the Knights of Pythias, and was a lifelong supporter of YMCA, serving on the Camp Erdman board. He was a student of Hawaiian language and loved to write Hawaiian music. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty, sons Pono and Carl, daughter Mealani, four grandchildren, Lei, Laura, Gerrit, and Lia, and sister Betty Cockett. He will be buried at Oahu Cemetery in a private family service on January 10th. In lieu of flowers, donation may be sent to YMCA of Honolulu/Camp Erdman.
