James Akira Tamura, 83, of Pearl City, a retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard boilermaker and an Army veteran who served in the Korean War, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Emiko; son Ray Y.; daughters Ann M. Luke, May M. Shindo, Clarice M. Ravelo and Julie M. Tamura; brothers Takashi and Hiroshi; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Thursday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services: 6 p.m. Casual attire.
