Helen D. Akana, 82, of Makawao, Maui, died in Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Hockerville, Okla. She is survived by sons Dutch and Kekuhaupio; daughters Nalani Pollock, Kahala Chow, Kanani Kealoha and Kalaokona Akana; sister Mertsey Garcia; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nakamura Mortuary. Services: 10:30 a.m. Burial: 12:30 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park.
