March 18, 1914 - January 16, 2013 Juling Teding Salve, 98, passed away on January 16, 2013. Mrs. Salve was born March 18, 1914 on Kauai. She was married to the late Modesto C. Salve for 53 years. Mr. and Mrs. Salve were active in the community for many years receiving numerous awards for their service. Together with the Lanakila Senior Center, Mr. and Mrs. Salve founded the Rondalla Hawaiiana, a popular jazz group of retired musicians and entertainers who regularly performed at care homes and various community events for over three decades. Mrs. Salve is survived by her children: Alita "Vi" Arkin, Bobbin "Maria Luz" Fasone, Sylvia Holland, and Maurice Kelly Salve. She was predeceased by husband Modesto C. Salve, daughter Blossom Morales, son Juleste Salve, and granddaughter Jasmine Davenport. She is survived by 14 grand children, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at the Valley of the Temples' Trusdale Memorial Chapel. Visitation from 10-11 AM. Celebration of Life at 11 AM followed by lunch and jazz at 11:45 AM.
