KARL MASAHIRO TSUKAZAKI
61, of Honolulu, passed away from pancreatic cancer on January 27, 2013. Karl was employed by Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort for 27 years in the Property Operations Department, until his retirement in July 2012. For many years, using his mechanical and electrical skills, he took pride and enjoyment in helping to engineer beautiful, award winning Aloha Week floats for the Hilton. He was previously employed by the Kahala Hilton, Prince Kuhio Hotel, Hyatt Regency Waikiki, and Ala Moana Hotel. Karl was devoted to helping those who needed a hand. He volunteered to run errands, do handyman repairs, pack and move households, help with home renovations, and would check in on family, friends, and the elderly to see if they needed anything done. He touched many lives, and will be dearly missed by all. Karl is survived by Tomoko, his wife of 17 years, parents George and Jane, sisters Georgia Jenny and Jan, mother in-law Yooko Yamashiro, and sister in-law Katsumi Yamashiro. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu at Ko'olau. Visitation at 2:30 pm and service at 3:30 pm.
