MARGARET KA’AHANUI LANI CHING
MARGARET KA'AHANUI LANI CHING Margaret Ka'ahanui Lani Ching, age 89 of Kaneohe, Oahu, joined our heavenly father on January 13, 2013. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Honolulu on September 6, 1923 to S. William Ka'ahanui and Amoy Wong. Lani married the love of her life, Ernest Ching. They worked industriously to raise three sons and two daughters. Lani was a federal government worker employed at Hickam Air Force Base Dependents Lounge, the Honolulu Post Office and retired from Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in 1988. Lani "Tutu" or "Grandma" has touched the hearts of many with her unconditional love, laughter, "ono food" and her enduring spirit. Her children and grandchildren were her life's work and joy. Margaret Lani Ching leaves behind her children: sons William Ernest Ching (Haunani), Milton Ernest Ching (Dr. Lianne), daughters Janet Lokelani Kahoopii (Neisha), and Janice Leilani Ching, along with 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great, great-grandchildren; brothers Samuel and Charles Ka'ahanui, sister Josephine Santos, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Her husband Ernest, son Tom, and great-grandson Lowell welcomed her to Heaven. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Morturary. Visitation 10:00 a.m. Service at 11:30 a.m. Aloha Attire.
