George E. Soper, 90, of Volcano, Hawaii, formerly of Kailua, a retired aircraft maintenance superintendent at Hickam Air Force Base and an Army veteran, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son James R., daughter Linda Makua, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 10 a.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary. Services: 11 a.m. Burial: 10:30 a.m. March 1 at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl.
