Richard "Joe" Hayashi, 85, of Pearl City, a retired state civil servant and an Army veteran, died in Pearl City. He was born in Aiea. He is survived by daughter Linda and brothers Tokuichi and Steve. Private services. Donations suggested to St. Francis Hospice or Soka Gakkai International-USA.
