Joseph F. Souza Jr., 83, of Wailuku, a retired Army sergeant first class, died in Gresham, Ore. He was born in Wailuku. He is survived by wife Lorraine; sons Charles, John, Mark, Paul and James; daughters Mary Gagne, Starlette Bauer, Celeste R. Souza and Carolyn Conner; brother Edward; sister Elsie Furtado; 32 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial: 1 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
