Colonel Kaimi Pakele, 56, of Kahaluu, a heavy equipment operator and an Army veteran, died in Kailua. He was born in Kahaluu. He is survived by wife May; sons Ben and Colonel “Kaimi†Jr.; daughters Coleene and Ivalynn Pakele, Jennifer Seales, and Christine Mello; brothers James “Kea,†John “Mia†and Allan Pakele, Quintin Gohia, and James “Sonnyâ€â€ˆLaemoa; sisters Trini Hough, Gwen Higa, Haunani Witsch, Eva Kong, Johnsie Kodama and Norinne Vierra; and six grandchildren.
