Hollis Hsing-Ming Chang
HOLLIS HSING-MING CHANG, MD Of San Marino, California, passed away on Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 peacefully in his sleep. Hollis was born February 18th, 1940 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated from Punahou School, Honolulu, Oberlin College and University of Southern California Medical School. He served as a Captain in the United States Air Force Medical Corp and was a practicing orthopedic surgeon before retiring. Hollis was a true Renaissance man. In addition to being a surgeon, Hollis: was an accomplished singer, was self-taught on the piano, ukulele, bass and drums, was an award winning artist, set the state record in the 330 hurdles, was a bird keeper, a gardener, a golfer and a chef. He lived his life with integrity, honesty and a zeal to explore new lands and meet new people. Hollis is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Leong Chang and their two sons: Hollis Blair Chang and Brent Christopher Chang; siblings: Lennig Chang MD (Adele), Rowena Shriber, Sheryln Goo; brother-in-law Robert Wong; and proceeded in death by sister Jocelyn Wong and brothers-in-law Richard Leong and William Shriber MD. Also survived by 12 nieces and nephews and many other relatives. Services and burial will be private in Honolulu. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hollis H.
