Joseph Gordon Hau‘oli Dowson Sr., 88, of Kahala Nui, formerly of Wahiawa, a retired Honolulu Police Department chief special investigator, a private investigator with the Turk and Agena law firm, and a visual artist, will be remembered in a celebration of life 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Borthwick Mortuary. He was born in Puunene, Maui. He is survived by wife Iris L.; sons Joseph G.H. Jr. and Gaylord G.H.; daughters R. Ipo Nihipali and Roxanne K. Dowson-Medeiros; stepsons Ryan W.Y., Walter W.Y. Jr. and Wesley W.Y. Chang; stepdaughter Wendy W.Y. Asato; hanai son David Turk; sister Marguerite K. Arciero; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Burial to be held at a later date.
