Akio "Stan" Higa, 80, of Hilo, a retired Hawaii County electrician, former proprietor of Akio Higa's Electrical Service and a Navy veteran, died in Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Mildred; daughters Shani and Sheri Ann Higa, and Deann Rivera; brothers Edwin and Glenn; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 3 p.m. Monday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 4 p.m. Cremation to follow. Committal services: noon June 18 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. No flowers.
